To remotely notify you when your laundry is done
About the project
I created this project to solve the problem of guessing when my laundry was done. My project works by attaching one box to the washing machine via the magnets on the bottom. That box senses the motion of the washing machine and when it determines that the cycle is complete, it sends a signal using radio modules to another box that is kept upstairs which notifies the user. More detailed information about the process can be found here.
How it works
Place the transmitting box on the washing machine and start the cycle.
2. Press the “reset” button on the receiving box that is kept upstairs. Both lights will come on to signal that the system has been reset.
3. While the cycle is still in progress, the red light will be lit.
4. When the cycle is done, the green light will come on and you can collect your laundry!
My favorite part
Learning how to use the radio modules was very cool and added a whole new complexity to my project. It was also interesting to create my own method of determining when the washing cycle was complete through data collection and testing.
