Ponytail Maker - Spring 2021
This project makes a ponytail with your hair without the use of your hands or arms
About the project
Created for a mechatronics course, the objective was to design and build a gadget that could help someone who does not have the use of their hands complete an everyday task. I chose to solve the problem of tying long hair because this is a task I am personally able to complete easily and found that current solutions were lacking in accessibility to all user groups.

Power comes from the base of the enclosure. The two metal circles in the front are the ultrasonic sensor which activates the device when someone walks in front of it. In the top is where the hair is collected and bound together.
A vacuum in the base of the enclosure is the primary method of hair collection to create the ponytail.
